  • The agreement about an 80 million euro loan to Latvenergo for capital investment in electricity production assets and network infrastructure signed in Pohjola Bank Latvian Branch | Pohjola Bank

  • Capillary pipe plates for innovative heating and conditioning systems will be produced by the Ventspils Technology Centre developed with funding from Pohjola Bank | Pohjola Bank
    Bank s Latvian Branch for a loan of 3 9 million euros The building of the Technology Centre is being built in the territory of the Ventspils Hi Tech Park It is envisaged that the total area of premises in the Centre will be 4 200 m 2 The premises will be adjusted for engineering metal processing and chemical industry as well as large size product manufacturing The ceremonial event in Ventspils was also attended by one of the potential lessees of the Technology Centre Board Member of the German company Wasserkabel Montage Baltic WMB Hans Eberhard Schmidt WMB has applied for a lease of more than half of the total area of the Centre approximately 2 300 m 2 It is planned that equipment that will produce water capillary pipe plates from polypropylene pellets will be installed there The representative of WMB explained that capillary pipes produced from such plates are used in innovative heating and conditioning systems Compared to other technologies used in heating and conditioning systems the capillary pipes allow for a saving of up to 80 of the energy A fine net of many capillary pipes is incorporated into the panels that are built into the ceilings walls or floors As long as the capillary pipes situated next to each other form a large heat exchange area the desired climate in the premises is achieved quickly and with low energy consumption explained H E Schmidt He also added that the employees for the plant in Ventspils will be sought within the plant s neighbourhood It is envisaged that the WMB assembly section in Ventspils will be developed as well Local staff will be trained to install the WMB heating and conditioning systems in the construction objects H E Schmidt emphasized that this plant in Ventspils will

  • The new Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering building has opened as part of the emerging “RTU – a city in the city” project with funding from Pohjola Bank | Pohjola Bank
    RTU a city in the city project A complex university development process is ongoing in Ķīpsala including the construction renovation and reconstruction of buildings The first completely newly built building of this extensive project the Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering the FPEE was commissioned in September This fact was especially emphasized as very important historically by the RTU Rector Academic Leonīds Ribickis at the opening ceremony of the building on 17 September The FPEE is currently one of the RTU s most modern faculties The building features six floors and has a total area of 7 750 square meters A modern infrastructure has been developed for the new FPEE building and the process of studies is provided for based on the highest standards This building is unique because it has fully automated ventilation air conditioning heating and lighting systems that are controlled via one united control panel The auditoriums are equipped with touchscreens a modern sound system has been installed and internet access is provided The building is also fully equipped for people with special needs At the Faculty opening ceremony the Minister of Education and Science Ina Druviete did not hide her satisfaction about the RTU being one
