    EA Multilateral Agreement EA MLA audit carried out on April 10 2014 passed a positive decision on retention of the LATAK status of an EA MLA signatory The LATAK status of an EA MLA signatory is in the following scopes accreditation of testing laboratories ISO 17025 including accreditation of medicine laboratories ISO 15185 accreditation of calibration laboratories ISO 17025 accreditation of product certification bodies ISO 45011 17065 accreditation of bodies for certification of persons ISO 17024 accreditation of inspection bodies ISO 17020 accreditation of management system certification bodies ISO 17021 EA Multilateral Agreement was expanded with greenhouse gas GHG scope ISO 14065 The decision on retention of the EA MLA signatory was passed under the following conditions by February 15 2015 to notify EA Cooperation on changes in the legal status of LATAK and its compliance to requirements of ISO 17011 standard and Regulation of the Regulation EC No 765 2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council by February 15 2015 to notify EA Cooperation on the progress in the scope of accreditation of medicine laboratories The next EA MLA audit is scheduled in 4 years in year 2017 EA Multilateral Agreement with the expanded scope will be

    ISO IEC 17024 2012 replaces ISO IEC 17024 2003 however during the transition period both standards are applicable International Accreditation Forum IAF has established a 36 months transition period New accreditation applications From November 15 2013 LATAK will only accept new applications for accreditation of bodies operating certification of persons in accordance with the standard LVS EN ISO IEC 17024 2012 Transition regulations for bodies operating certification of persons which are accredited according to the standard LVS EN ISO IEC 17024 2003 All accredited bodies operating certification of persons accredited according to the standard LVS EN ISO IEC 17024 2003 shall prepare a program establishing the measures for changes in management system documentation the required resources and training of personnel and terms for implementation of changes Such program must be sent to LATAK by January 15 2014 irrespective of the planned performance of assessment of accreditation surveillance which will at the same time serve as assessment of the institution according to the standard LVS EN ISO IEC 17024 2012 LATAK will assess conformity to the new standard during assessment of surveillance within the normal accreditation cycle and all LATAK assessments after January 15 2014 will be performed according to the

    IEC 17020 2013 Conformity assessment Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection Herewith we are informing you that starting from August 1 2013 Latvian National Accreditation Bureau LATAK will start accrediting bodies performing inspection inspectors whereof will examine the sold useful or efficiently used thermal energy in accordance with the standard LVS ISO IEC 17020 2013 Conformity assessment Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers No 221 of March 10 2009 Regulations regarding electricity production and price determination upon production of electricity in cogeneration and Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers No 262 of March 16 2010 Regulations regarding production of electricity using renewable energy resources and the procedures for determination of prices Information regarding criteria to be used in assessment of inspection bodies is available in the attached document of the Ministry of Economics Guidelines to the Latvian National Accreditation Office for accreditation of inspection bodies whose inspectors inspect the sold useful or efficiently used thermal energy in accordance with the standard LVS EN ISO IEC 17020 2013 Conformity assessment Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection Conformity assessment of the
