    t pollute air with harmful exhaust gas Contact Cost of e bikes Electric Bikes Electric Vehicles FAQ Kalendārs News Par e mobilitāti E automobīļi E velosipēdi Uzlāde Saites Project Publications Types of e bikes Study on placement of fast charging stations on Latvian TEN T roads completed Study Placement of fast charging stations on TEN T roads commissioned by the Latvian Road Traffic Safety Directorate CSDD was held from April to September 2015 The study included a survey among users of electric vehicles EV registered in Latvia on their usage habits average daily mileage most popular routes today and potential routes in the future Experience of the neighboring countries Estonia Lithuania Finland and Sweden in the field of e mobility and development of charging networks was studied as well The study identified the potential locations of fast charging stations where they can be installed at the lowest cost while ensuring the maximum efficiency of the national charging network Taking into account both cost efficiency and expectations of EV users potential locations of 55 charging stations providing the necessary coverage on TEN T roads within the distance of 30 km were identified The following figure shows the proposed placement of the planned charging stations During the first stage it is planned to install 30 charging stations within 60 km from each other marked in blue on the map During the second stage additional 25 stations marked in yellow which will bring the distance between the stations to 30 km The figures on the marks show the priority of a station within the respective stage Source www e transports org More information on the results of the study can be found at the website of E mobility Management and Co ordination Department of Road Traffic Safety Directorate Jan Feb Mar Apr May

    e bikes Electric Bikes Electric Vehicles FAQ Kalendārs News Par e mobilitāti E automobīļi E velosipēdi Uzlāde Saites Project Publications Types of e bikes Project opening seminar On June 11 2015 Baltic Environmental Forum in cooperation with SIA Ardenis and Latvian Cyclists Union organized the opening seminar of the project Promotion of e mobility in Latvia for climate change mitigation The seminar was attended by specialists from municipalities e mobility experts the Road Traffic Safety Directorate and other interested parties The purpose of the seminar was to present the planned project activities Prior to the commencement of project activities Baltic Environmental Forum conducted an electronic survey to evaluate e mobility awareness in municipalities as well as which topics should be covered during the training seminars Municipal experts revealed that they would be interested to learn about experience of other municipalities in use of electric vehicles what should be considered when purchasing and using electric vehicles as well as the fact that without public financial support for e mobility and development of the charging infrastructure development of e m obility in Latvian municipalities will not be as fast as expected In order t o raise awareness and increase knowledge of municipal leaders and experts on e mobility a handbook covering both electric cars and electric bikes will be developed within the project Representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate presented the Latvian e mobility development plan 2014 2016 its objectives and priorities To accelerate development of e mobility several support programs are available both for local governments and businesses to support innovation and research Project activities targeted at municipalities were presented to the participants of the opening seminar however other project activities with the aim to promote e mobility also for general public and students are planned as well Information on
